This year was a great year for the Lady Rams Basketball team. The girls
played hard every night. The team was the strongest it has been in years.
The Lady Rams showed great teamwork with each of the girls playing there
own important role on the team. Some of the players even set milestones this
season.
At the end, the girls finished up the season with a 12-13 record. Congratulations
to all of the girls on a great season.
LaTonya Oliver aka “LT” did the impossible. This season “LT” had a “double-quadruple” in career stats. She had quadruple digits in rebounds and points scored, grabbing over 1000 rebounds and scoring 1002 points. When asked how she felt the moment she scored her 1000th point, “LT” could not put it into words. She is a very humble player who will never brag about doing the impossible, but at the end of the day with those kinds of numbers, who needs to brag. Congratulations “LT”!!!
The Rams Basketball team under Coach Marciano achieved what 15 other consecutive
Rams Basketball teams before them could not. This year the boys made it to
the playoffs for the first time in 15 years. Lead by strong senior athletes
such as Reggie Jackson, Dontae Johnson, Chris Allebach, Chris Moore, Jeff
Jones, Kevin Rundstrom, Harrison Harmon, and Jarius Morris the boys played
hard with heart and intensity every game. The Rams finished the regular season
off with a 15-11 record. The first playoff game was away against Glassboro.
The gym was packed with a huge amount of Overbrook supporters. The game was
intense, with the score going back and forth. By the end of regulation the
game was tied. Overtime played out with the same intensity as the previous
32 minutes. By the time the buzzer rang the score was tied again. Both teams
wanted the win badly, and the crowd just as bad. The second overtime was
just as suspenseful. Both teams looked to be evenly matched until the Overbrook
Rams Basketball team became too much for the tired Glassboro Bulldogs. The
boys celebrated that night by winning 71-62. The next playoff game was against
a much bigger Cinnaminson. The Rams did everything the could do, but in the
end, they lost. The team had a great season and could not have played better.
Congratulations to all of the boys on the great season.
